Want to learn more about the Regional District of Nanaimo’s Regional Growth Strategy

A special Neighbourhood Network meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 12, 7-9 p.m. at Activity Room #1, Bowen Park Complex.  The meeting will feature a 30-45 minutes presentation by the planning staff of the Regional District of Nanaimo providing an overview of the draft Regional Growth Strategy followed by time for questions and general discussion.  Meeting is OPEN to ALL.

NEW draft Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) is now available for review at www.ShapingOurFuture.ca.  Hard copies of the new draft RGS can be viewed at the RDN Administration Building, RDN Recreation Facilities, all regional libraries, and municipal offices in the RDN.  The (RGS) is a strategic plan that aims to establish a more sustainable pattern of population growth and development in the region over the next 25 years.  The new draft includes policies on food security, water conservation, transportation, economic development, affordable housing and climate change.
